| Amber Smith couldn't remember anything about her past only that she awakened to find laying beside her an older gentleman with a bullet in his chest, and the gun clasped to her hand. She only knew she had to get out of there and run. She had to get as far from San Antonio as she could. Taking a job as a nanny seemed like the safest place after all it was 100 north and close to the Mexican border no one would look for her there.
Luke Ryan needed a nanny for his young daughter Alicia and he hired Amber over the phone. He had seen that she had worked in a library and in a preschool. Though the rest of her background was a bit vague he felt once she got there he could ask her more questions. When he fist saw Amber he was taken by her beauty but reminded himself that she was his daughter's nanny. Though he tried to get more information on her she still remained elusive. It was his brother Matt who seemed to feel there was something she was hiding and as a retied law enforcement officer he was going to find out what it was. Luke saw how well Alicia had taken to Amber and for all he cared she was perfect for his daughter and wasn't too bad for his ego either. Slowly Luke began to feel more than just an employer-employee relationship and even when Amber explained that she had no memory of her past it was Luke who helped her and eventually he realized that she was someone very dear to him. A heart warming story that will make you feel for this couple. It makes work as a nanny seem very attractive. Seriously it is a story that will touch your heart in just the way you want and expect from a romance.
