| When Patrick is asked by his best friend Josh to go home with him to a small town in Wyoming for the summer and work for his aunt and stay at his father's ranch, he thinks it will be a nice change from the city. But doesn't expect much in the way of meeting other gay men. Dakota is Josh's father and everything that Patrick likes in a man. Patrick falls in love with Dakota, but there is so much standing in the way of the two men coming together. Can Patrick and Dakota overcome Dakota's past and his reticence over getting involved with a much younger man?
This is a story about regret, love, hope and forgiveness everything that makes a good romance. The story moves quickly in some places but slowly in others which makes it seem longer than it actually is. The plot, while interesting, does seem to be unbelievable at times. Even though for Patrick it was love at first sight, I found it hard to understand how he stayed in love, because other than good sex he really didn't have anything to keep it growing. Dakota seemed to stay distant and unapproachable throughout the story even when good things happened to him and it seemed that plot line of William was tied up too smoothly. While it answered the questions it needed to, I would have liked more details as to what he went through. Maybe the author will use him in a story of his own. I would like to see him find his own happiness. There is m/m sex between Patrick and Dakota and while hot, it sometimes tended to make the story drag. In spite of the things that bothered me about the story I enjoyed it. It is still a story that makes us all want to believe in the power of love.
