Karen Walker (43) had been a widow for five years. She had promised Jason, her deceased husband, that she would retrace their last vacation trip across the US. She had his ashes in an urn and talked to him all the time. They finally decided (together) that it was time for her to make this one-month trip. Her children had a hard time accepting their mother going cross-country alone with only an urn. Karen had mapped out her trip, made reservations at each stop and was quite anxious to get on the road.

Ben Carrey was in the desert resting on the highway just exactly where Karen had a flat tire. There hadn't been any cars for miles. Both Ben and Karen were surprised to see each other. Their initial introduction was just the beginning of their joint trip across country. Ben had some trouble accepting Jason's ashes going everywhere they went. He had been mugged, he said, and had no money. He ended up staying in her reserved rooms, in the second bed, throughout the journey.

Ms. Linda Lattimer has, once again, done what she does best. As a follower of this author, I grab her books whenever I can. She consistently delivers the substance her readers expect. Her characters were quite realistic, but also unbelievable. It did, however, work well. She went into great details with her main characters. The additional characters were so well developed any of them could have been considered perfect.

This story was poignant and emotionally charged. The action was non-stop and heart-gripping. It was so easy to get wrapped up in all aspects of the storyline and refuse to stop turning pages.

This inspirational romance addressed many normally taboo subjects. There were many changes, as well as surprises, to this story by the ending. This HEA was hard-earned and almost magical. I highly recommend you read this book. Great job, Linda!
