| Corporate fixer Rena Gordon has an impossible task ahead of her, and can't afford any distractions unless she wants to find herself without a job. Instead of revealing who she truly is, she goes for being a guest at the resort she needs to get out of the red because she believes it's the only useful way to get the information she desperately needs from the employees.
CIA operative Neil Jackson is working undercover as a fishing guide in Big Bay in order to stop a terrorist from creating havoc. Not above using people, he works his way into Rena's life without exposing his identity so he can gain a look into her employee files. Yet the closer he gets to her, the harder it is for him to maintain a professional distance. This book turned out to be very good, considering it started off a bit slow with the hero and heroine getting a feel for one and another and dancing around their instantaneous chemistry. The plot was interesting, and with the dialogue written from both Neil and Rena's point of view as well as a couple of secondary characters, I learned a lot about the characters. Such as why Rena's sister was the way she was and why the terrorist's sister was so loyal to a brother she thought was a little too set in his ways to seek revenge for his family. What I liked about Rena was that she didn't allow people's opinions of her effect the way she did her job, proving she wasn't afraid to be the bad guy or woman in her case. And as for Neil, his need to protect Rena above doing his duty was fantastic. It showed that he wasn't a ruthless agent that would get the job done at the risk of getting someone hurt, and that he wasn't one of those undercover operatives that think they can't trust anybody but themselves. Overall, this was a truly enjoyable story and one that had me looking forward to other books that are written by this author in the future.
