| Architect Lance Lott is surprised by his long-time lover Sydney when she arranges a threesome with her friend Gwen McIver. Problem is, after the tryst, Lance can't get Gwen out of his mind, but he doesn't want to hurt Sydney. What's a red-blooded man to do? With the main action set against the glittering skyline of Vegas, and a full complement of interesting peripheral characters, this short novella is packed with plot.
The story flowed well, with generally sparkling dialog and intriguing characters. Particularly endearing are Mama Yvette Lott and Gramps McIver. Some suspension of disbelief is required due to the shortness of the piece, which precludes depth of development in some of the situations, but, on the whole, the action moves smoothly and there is just enough spice to make it tasty without being too hot. The main characters have a chemistry between them that is well-presented and believable. Though the names Lance A. Lott and Gwen Iver (her stage name) brought out a teensy groan, who else would you expect in the Camelot Casino? All in all, it was a fun read, and one I feel confident to recommend to all the romantic at heart who like that touch of spice.
