| After finding a letter from her ex-boyfriend about how he'd made the biggest mistake of his life by leaving her, Evelyn plans to find him and see if there still is something between them. However, things don't go as planned when the airlines cancel all flights due to weather conditions, and the only way she can see her ex is to catch a ride in an unregistered cab with a most annoying man named Brian.
Brian was simply minding his own business, and looking for his next passenger in his cab. Eventually he finds Evelyn and is off on one roller-coaster of an adventure. Late to the Wedding was an enjoyable book that provides plenty of laughs between two great characters. The plot progressed well with many incidents causing Evelyn and Brian to bicker like children which was a delight to read. Not to mention the dialogue was superb, and showed the great chemistry between the two main characters that it was a wonder she could even remember anything about her ex-boyfriend. And although there were no sex scenes between Evelyn and Brian, the fact that he came back for her after they parted ways showed that they'd have a great relationship in the future. What I enjoyed so much about Evelyn was that she finally gave in to her attraction to Brian, although he wasn't the sort of man she'd normally date. While with Brian, I liked the way that he pushed Evelyn to realise that her ex wasn't the right man for her and that he could be. Overall, this book was a great read because of the great chemistry between the characters and the ending was one I thoroughly enjoyed as both Evelyn and Brian realised that no one was more right for them than each other, which is what love is all about.
