No one in Lauren's life ever believed that she can sense things about animals, and thus has become a veterinarian. Coupled with the visions she receives of murders and violence, this is more than most people can understand. For the past few weeks, she has seen the same violent scene in her head; a lady on a cliff having her life choked out of her by a man. Lauren doesn't know anything beyond what the vision shows, so she follows what clues she does see in her vision and they lead her to Foothills Guest Ranch. There are only a few problems - Lauren does not know who is going to be killed, when they are going to be killed, or who is the killer. Everyone is under suspicion… especially the owner of the ranch.

Cal Taggert has worked hard to try and keep his ranch from falling under the heavy hammer of economic strain. In an act of desperation, he opens a guest ranch so that people can come and see the real, inner-workings of a ranch - all the while paying for his true dream to exist. He has had very good offers for his "spread" but Cal just will not sell. When Lauren gets off the bus and immediately captures his attention, Cal realizes that not since his divorce has anyone sparked his attention like her, and maybe even before.

Shocked and scared to find herself attracted to Cal, Lauren tries to maintain an emotional distance. After all, she finds out it is Cal's ex-wife who is the victim in his dream, and she was killed on his ranch. Lauren does not truly believe Cal is the killer, but can she trust him with her spirit, her life and her secret quest? Can Cal trust her with his heart?

Cal is a wisecracking, super-charged man with some emotional hang-ups. Lauren is dynamic, loving, and caring but is unable to trust anyone with her special abilities. Together, Cal and Lauren the light up the pages! A great story that has it all: sexy romance, cowboys, paranormal suspense and an emotional tie that binds it all together. Highly Recommended!
