This anthology was a good compilation which had everything necessary for a great read. Lawmen and Outlaws was written by four different authors. The stories were independent of each other. Each was a satisfaction in itself. Put together, it became a collection of books any historical romance lover will enjoy reading. Each story was romantic, and suitable for almost any reader. The last story was a little more explicit. In all four of the stories emotions ran high and these love stories were definitely charming.

"Sheriff McBride" by Lauri Robinson introduced readers to Abigail Christenson who captured Adam McBride’s heart. Robinson’s characters and dialogue were strong and did an interesting job of dealing with Adam’s dilemma concerning her unlawful past. Not only did we experience his conflict of interest, we also were availed of Robinson’s vast writing abilities. This was definitely an interesting story.

Linda Carroll-Bradd, in "Dreams of Gold" gave us glimpses into 1871 Wyoming. We were given characters that were believable, strong and independent. Love wasn’t enough to allow the sheriff to give up his search for the swindler who took advantage of their town. Even though Ciara was adamant about her father’s inability toward deceit, Quinn had personal reasons to track him down. This author gave us a non-standard ending which was really interesting.

"McKenna’s Woman," by Loretta C. Rogers, told the story of McKenna Smith and Audra Tadlock in Hopeville, Texas. An ex-con, working toward a pardon, almost lost his way when he fell in love. His couldn’t remember where he had previously met Audra and it haunted him. This author used her experience to tell a story in a fast-paced, spellbinding way. Her strong characters were believable and they held my interest throughout this exciting journey.

"The Outlaw’s Angel," by Helen Hardt gave us a sensual love story about 1869 Dakota Territory and a bounty hunter, Bobby Morgan. He was falsely accused of murder and, in desperation, kidnapped the preacher’s daughter, Naomi. Their escapades were impressive and just kept getting worse. The strong, dynamic characters, as well as the people they met during their journey, made the story fabulous. This story, as well as the surprise ending, grabbed my attention and wouldn’t let go.
