| Charles Handlin is an American author but not a successful one. He and his wife, Abigail de la Deliah have been married for five years with no children. After Abby has to leave for Spain, Charles is not able to accompany her until later. When an Inspector Brice visits him about a fortune and the two not being heirs, Charles knows he must head to Spain. The Law of Replacement says because they are childless with no heirs, another man has now asserted Abigail as his wife and Charles is to be replaced. In one week the process will take place and he will also be given a companion.
Out of seven choices Charles is allowed to make only one choice. Her name is not to be known by him and there is to be absolutely no cozy contact. She will only be known as Number Seven. She can share his bed but have no physical contact. Charles soon learns that she knows about a hidden map and some journal dating back to when Christopher Columbus reached America and some information relating to the house of Pilar. Now they must uncover the truth of the Pilar family and the theories surrounding the map with as much proof as possible. La Lay Del Reemplazo - The Law of Replacement is a story full of disturbances and troubling events. A man forced to give his wife to another because of no children then chose a companion for himself with absolutely no intimacy. When Charles overhears that his wife has been given to another man you can almost feel the sensations running through his head. Mr. Arnold has encrypted a story that reaches out and gives thought as he touches upon each of the characters in this read. With some intense twists and turns, the story takes the reader on a riveting fast spin that is quite interesting.
