| Xander Michaels is caught in a relationship with Lillian Dell. She’s a manipulative actress who has him in a ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ kind of relationship. Meeting Angus McNamee, his new costar for a movie the three will be doing only makes his plight sadder. Angus offers him a love he’d only fantasized about in the past, an honesty Lillian wouldn’t even think about. Xander has a decision to make. As usual, Lillian takes it out of his hands.
Gabrina Garza gives us an inside look at a man who has a sense of honor that controls him when his sense of fear and potential loss isn’t. We can see that Xander isn’t a foolish man. He’s well aware of how fickle fans can be, how Lillian changes her behavior to fit whatever circumstances she wants to create. We’ve all probably had a Lillian in our life, someone so attuned to ways to hurt others that they can make others’ lives miserable while always remaining above the fallout that she causes. For a brief interlude Xander has Angus, a man who has fantasized about him for years, one who puts him on a pedestal for a while. But, like Xander, the reader is pretty sure there’s nothing he can do to change his life unless he’s willing to put his career on the line. Ms. Garza does a great job with these characters, the dialogue, the erotic scenarios. I think it’ll be easy for the reader to relate to the characters and their lives.
