This is the fourth book in Williamson’s Devils on Horseback series. Lee was the man whose attitude was of anger and rejection. He had watched his brother and cousins find their places in life. They tried to include Lee in their lives but he held his grudges tightly within his grasp. He refused to enter the diner he was part owner of. He was furious when he was literally forced to move in with the Widow Blanchard and help her get her wheat crop harvested.

Genevieve Blanchard and her daughter Sophie were alone after the death of her no-good husband. The only way they could exist was to harvest the wheat crop her husband had planted. They needed the money to keep from losing the one thing that her late husband had left her—the rundown farm. She hated asking for help but she had no choice. When Lee arrived at her farm, neither thought they would get along. The biggest problem between them was Genny refused to view him as “handicapped.” Lee viewed himself quite the opposite.

Once again Beth Williamson has maintained her high standards. She brought her series to an interesting completion with this last in the series. It was the ultimate conclusion and exactly the degree of romance her readers have come to expect. The more I read of her books, the more I want to read. She has a unique writing style which keeps readers spellbound and unable to stop reading.

Her characters, both main and sub-characters, are richly enhanced. They present realistic problems and are both believable and lovable. She draws her readers into her storyline from the first couple of pages. Her sexual scenes are graphic and quite explicit. However, they are not the entire book’s contents. There is a solid, poignant plot with a wonderfully told narrative.

This is a fabulous book which will, I’m sure, remain a best seller for a long time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story. This is definitely an author that belongs on your must-read list.
