Noah had an unpleasant background and had always felt like he did not truly fit in the Calhoun/Malloy clan. He wandered into Chancetown, Wyoming, and found himself the new sheriff in town before sunset! What a departure from his usual life style! After he stood up with the saloon owner against two bullies in her bar, Marina Fuerte recommended to the current sheriff, Johnny Boyton, that Noah take the job he was ready to leave. Noah also met the town misfit, Rosalyn Benedict, the same day. Rosalyn had lived on the streets for ten years; the town had hung her mother after she killed her abusive husband when he turned his aggressiveness on Rosie. The town ignored her; it was easier than admitting how quickly they had murdered the young woman’s mother.

Conflict abounded between Noah and Rosalyn right from the beginning! In true Williamson style, the scenes were sensual, steamy and hot! The problems in Chancetown were hard to figure out; the relationship between these two was definitely not! This author is well-known for her incredible ability to create stories which encourage the reader to love (or hate, as the case may be) the characters involved in her narratives. And, oh my, what an ending!

I am honestly going to miss the Malloy/Calhoun families! This series has transported me back to the time of real cowboys; each book, as I read, was my favorite! I recommend you get the entire series, start with this one if you wish, and read them all! Noah and Rosalyn unquestionably upheld her high standards and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
