| Cindi Louise Petroneli labors as a waitress while being a surrogate mother to her six-year-old brother, Ryan. It has been three years since their mother's passing and with her father's abandonment, of which she doesn't give a second thought, Ryan's needs are the most important on her agenda. They have lived well without any man in their life and intend to continue doing so. But when Ryan needs a math tutor things shift. Once again she does some calculating to cut cost somewhere. But one calculation she never considered was Steve Richland, a college professor. She doesn't care if he can play baseball and loves kids; this gorgeous hunk doesn't need to be teaching Ryan when he is already playing lessons with her heartstrings. Steve only plans to stay in Glen Meadow until another huge opportunity happens his way. After assigned to tutor Ryan, he provides the best in math and baseball tuition to the young man. Steve soon learns his own lessons after being around Cindi, which has him questioning leaving town or complete submission to a life with a beautiful woman, with possible fatherhood, or a freedom to follow a California dream. Both have a huge decision when they learn their own lessons in discovering love.
Lessons in Love is a sweet, impressionable story that transports the reader into a town that clamors with life. This reader felt the whole sensation of the ambiance of the setting as if sitting right inside Pops family restaurant. The exchange of eye contact with Steve and Cindi is heart tugging and the dialogue superb. They make such an adorable couple and with the addition of Ryan, the story had just the right seasoning to make it a winner. Shara Jones pens a delightful tale. She creates vibrant characters and secondary ones that make the story consistent. The passion and electrical sparks between Steve and Cindi illuminates the pages in this charming read. This is one of those feel good stories that made this reader's heart leap for joy. Ms. Jones fashions beautiful stories.
