| April Matthews finds being senior editor at Dream Publishing House no picnic. Many submissions come across her desk it is hard to find any unique. She is in the middle of going through manuscripts when her mother phones informing that her brother is being questioned in a murder case. April knows her brother, Aaron is no murderer. Now that April is the successful one in the family, it seems she has to be the rescuer for her family. Even as a widow, she has to take care of matters for everyone. This time she doesn't care for the guilt-trip from her mother and believes they should just let thinks sit out with Aaron. When Aaron learns April is not going to help, he isn't happy with the situation. Then April learns he is being charged for the murder and she changes her mind about her brother. Caleb McKinley is set to prosecute Aaron. As the assistant DA, he prides himself on his self-control and able to read people at a glance. He tries to never mix business with pleasure. The first time he meets April something strange hits him. When a manuscript surfaces with some events of long ago, Caleb takes matters into his hands with April. As they focus to find the real killer, April and Caleb find a love to last eternity in each others arms, that neither imagined, but someone may put an end to their happiness.
Once again Lori Derby Bingley has spun a tale that keeps the reader on their toes. Lethal Memoirs is a mystery that had this reader searching for a killer but every time I thought I had the culprit another twist was thrown into the pot. She weaves a plot that keeps on ticking until the end. April and Caleb are great characters and I like the way they blend in together. The well-rounded secondary characters interact and make the story one incredible read. This engaging story is like a roller coaster ride that doesn't stop, it is so riveting. I like Ms. Bingley's introduction into the story. It pulled me in and I didn't want to stop in this magnificent tale that is brilliantly crafted.
