Eric Sweeney is a jazz pianist at a jazz club in Manhattan. He is returning to London soon after a 6-month gig in the States. His birthday is approaching. He promised for his 35th birthday present to himself to take a lover for some wild sex. At the club one night he met a beautiful woman named Angel Duvernay. He told her he wanted to get to know her better. Angel just found out she has a rare blood disease. She doesn't want to miss out on any great adventures and figures time is short. Eric and Angel plan a weekend away together to explore their sexual fantasies. After their getaway, will Eric and Angel find they want more than just a fantasy?

I loved the characters of Eric and Angel. Eric was a professional musician and Angel was an interpreter. Because of the commitments of their lives, it seemed they were emotionally much younger than their ages. Both of them are very gifted, very intelligent and extraordinarily attractive people. It seemed that their special gifts and beauty had made their lives somewhat isolated. There is a fragile quality to Angel because of her health. Her doctor's news has made her value living for the moment. It seemed that both Eric and Angel were somewhat startled by their impulsiveness of arranging a weekend together. However, their anticipation was much, much stronger than any apprehension. This story really touched my heart because of the vulnerability of the characters of Eric and Angel. I wanted them to experience some joy. This story reads very quickly. I recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely romantic story.
