| Victoria Carrington's stop at a seemingly deserted rest area results in her car being stolen with her purse and money inside. Bad boy Levi Bennette shows up at the rest area on a motorcycle. Despite being scared of Levi, she's more scared of being left there alone and at the mercy of whomever might come later. She gives her faith to Levi to take her to somewhere safe where she can work on recovering her car and possessions.
But Levi is on the hunt for revenge. He's a wanted man with an arrest warrant for multiple things, including murder. This story started off a little slow for my taste but it quickly picked up its pace. I really enjoyed the interplay between Victoria and Levi. Each of them are victim to their own assumptions about the other. Despite the fact they recognize that behavior in the other, they have to work to overcome it in themselves. I did feel that I never got a chance to really get to know the two main characters as well as I wished to. There is also a bit of a lingering question in my mind about the timeline and a few of the plot elements. It wasn't enough to really pull me out of the story but lingered after the story was done. The sex scenes were well written and Ann has a great way of pulling the reader into the landscape without going overboard. Overall, it's a nice read. I liked it and was generally satisfied at the end. Definitely worth the read.
