Ray Porter insists he'd rather be dropped on his head and get amnesia before falling in love like so many of his newly found cousins. But he should be careful what he proposes. His cousin Tiger Ramirez asks for help so he, Jen and Blade resume their old undercover identities to help naive heir Lori McTeague on a scavenger hunt. However, it isn't Lori but her ex-Marine, professional bodyguard cousin Lauren incognito that they accompany to the isolated mansion. On the way, they run into Lori's repugnant cousins and Ray ends up with a case of amnesia. So now if Lauren and Ray can get beyond their secret identities and solve the zany puzzle perhaps they can explore their burgeoning feeling for each other.

This was an extravagant and outlandish mystery that I could not put down. I read it in one sitting one night and spent the next day rubbing my gritty eyes over and over again and I didn't even mind it. The main couple both had a force of character and intelligence that made it almost impossible not to admire. Even their limitations and imperfections were enjoyable to read about. Ray is such a strong and stern alpha male, so set in his ways that it is a joy to see how meeting Lauren affects his ever-present cool. His bout of amnesia takes control away from him and I admired the way he handled the situation of trying to piece together his own personality while still piecing together the crazy puzzle. Lauren is such an admirable woman. I would love to have her stalwart personality and strength. She might initially come across as stern and strict but the depth of her feelings for those she loves is laudable. I've never been a fan of the Marx Brothers but after reading this highly entertaining story I might just check out Duck Soup to see what all the fuss was about. A huge cast of well-portrayed, quirky supporting characters make for a very believable tale. This humorous book is a stand-alone, although some of the characters carry over from previous titles. This is a must-read for those who enjoy romantic suspense. I'm looking forward to reading about the lives of the other characters to see what adventures they can get up to.
