Natasha is an accomplished woman who is not entirely happy with the life she's made for herself. She had the perfect job and the perfect husband, but they were never perfect enough to extinguish her heart's true wish to correct the wrong she did the woman she ever really loved. In this critical moment of self-reflection in a life she's come to regret, she receives two magical objects, a diary and a necklace, which along with a strange midnight visitor can change her life in ways she never dared dream of. All she has to do is write down that wish, and believe it will come true.

I truly liked this story. Natasha is a no-nonsense type of woman, with a strong mind and spirit, and for that reason I loved seeing Ms. Houston defy this character?'s path by having Natasha write on the diary, even though in Natasha's head that course of action is completely illogical and thus a waste of her time. I specially liked the night where she receives the mystical visitor, for that is when we truly understand what a complex woman Natasha truly is. The pace is also surprisingly good, considering what a rich plot this short story has. I was just a little disappointed at not seeing more of Natasha and Lydia together; this story is about their true love, and save for a brief glimpse of their alternate life together, there isn't really any development in that front, and in my opinion that really hurt the story as a whole.
