Brandon has returned home after losing part of his leg in a road side bombing. He is focused on learning to walk with a prosthetic and trying to figure out what he is going to do for work. Brandon meets Donald in church and he is attracted to the man with the beautiful voice. Don helps Brandon begin to rebuild his life, by helping build his confidence. Brandon helps Don overcome his past, which includes a deeply religious upbringing, where his family condemned him and kicked him out for his sexuality. Can the two men have the future they never imagined they would?

I loved this story; this is the kind of story that made T.A. Chase one of my favorites. This is a book about second chances and love. It is not a complicated plot, it moves quickly and smoothly. It’s one of those stories that makes you want to believe in love at first sight and that no matter how bad things look there is always hope. The characters of Brandon and Don are great together, the way they are considerate of each other and try to help each other get over their insecurities. Brandon’s mom and Don’s Uncle Fred are also great supporting characters, teaching by example, that there is good in the world and it’s all in how you view things. Everyone should have family like them. I would have liked it to go more into detail about Don’s life before he came to live with his Uncle Fred, but that is just a personal feeling and does not reflect any on the story. There is some romantic m/m situations, while it does get into some detail, it is tastefully written and fits very well with the story and does not make the reader feel awkward reading it. This a great book for those who like to read about good people trying to overcome bad situations.
