Bethany King had worked hard to get to the point in her career that she had now reached. Her desires had been put on hold until she achieved recognition in her field. She had now become qualified to run her own project and was terribly upset when she was assigned as "co-manager" with her main office enemy.

Garrett Myers couldn't understand why Bethany despised him. He had never done anything to her. In fact, he was interested in her and went out of his way to treat her with respect. His character was questioned at every turn—because he was too nice and too sweet to be real. He was considered by Bethany to be a brown-noser as well as a suck-up.

I enjoy reading Ms. Mendoza's work. I like her writing style. She is concise and packs a lot of valuable information into her short novels. This was fast-paced and powerful. When Bethany was forced to face her biggest rival, would her attitude change? The powerfully emotional work grabbed my attention from page one and didn't lose me. I couldn't put the book down.

There were a couple of big surprises within the pages of this book. It was not at all how I expected the book to end. The characters were dynamic and believable. I highly recommend this book for all to read. It is even suitable to younger readers.
