Lily Tucker is on a bad luck streak so low she's considering taking up pole dancing to move up in the world, when she suddenly gets a call that she has inherited an island home. Her grandmother has died and left her everything. Unfortunately, the house is a shack with no amenities. The only good thing Lily sees in Wonderland, Arkansas is the sexy deputy, Toby Dodd, who doesn't want any part of the trouble he predicts comes with Lily into his little town. Then someone is murdered and Toby isn't sure if Lily is the bad guy or a victim?

Lily is a spitfire, full of sass and attitude big enough to fool most people. She swings into town in a "borrowed" car, without a driver's license, and looking too good to be up to any good. Toby can't decide if he should lock her up to protect the people in his town or take her up on her on one of her feisty suggestive suggestions. Lily is a great character that I couldn't help but like. Her antics are funny and she knows how to use her considerable assets to get what she wants in life! Toby, on the other hand, I wanted to like but he was so stupid in the beginning of the story that I just wanted to smack some sense into him a long time before he found it for himself. Luckily he does eventually begin to demonstrate that he isn't the stupid hick deputy he appears to be... If you like humor, lots of attitude, pithy put downs, and a little suspense to keep you guessing, then you will enjoy Lily in Wonderland. I will be watching to see what Ms. Fitzpatrick can dream up next because her quirky sense of humor is just my style!
