On his way back to his home place, Logan Creed found an abandoned dog at a rest stop. He put the dog, which he named Sidekick, into his old truck and went to the place of his birth, Stillwater Springs Ranch. He and his two brothers had inherited the big ranch. It had three old, rundown houses, dilapidated barns and one cantankerous bull that his brother had put on the place. The fencing was falling down. The whole place had been deserted for over twelve years.

Briana Grant and her sons Alec and Josh and their dog named Wanda had been deserted in the parking lot of the local Wal Mart. Her now ex-husband Vance decided he didn’t want them hanging on to him anymore and drove off and left them standing there. When Dylan Creed, Logan’s brother, saw what happened, he took them to his neglected house near the main house and barn. He wasn’t living there so he offered her the use of the house and his old shabby truck. They had been there for three years. And then after Logan returned, her ex showed up with his new wife.

Linda Lael Miller has done what she does best—written another cowboy novel with everything you could possibly desire in a book. This is the number one book in a trilogy about the three estranged Creed siblings who fought over their father’s grave. If book #1 is the norm, this trilogy will be the success expected when reading Miller’s latest works.

In my opinion, this Creed novel is as good as her highly-acclaimed McKettrick series. I cannot wait to read the other books. Miller’s characters are above and beyond the standard. Her writing style exemplifies the best of the industry. There is nothing to dislike in her books. This book offered a beautiful love story between two people who were very different. It also gave us conflict, a bit of mystery, and drama.

It’s a fabulous book which I cannot recommend highly enough. Anyone unfamiliar with this author will be thrilled to find Miller. Her fans will rush to purchase her latest.
