| Kiersten Day had taken over Rocky Peak, the sheep ranch, from her Grandpa. She inherited the pain of CJ Howell, a man determined to buy her small ranch. A widow for the past almost 3 years, Kiersten was immediately attracted to a man, Cleve, who worked for their ranch foreman—a “Boss Hogg” look-a-like. Her best friend, Nate, was taking care of her grandpa while going to school. He was particularly uneasy about her safety because not only Howell, but a friend of her deceased husband was also out to get her attention anyway possible.
Cleve, youngest son of CJ Howell, was blown away when he first saw Kiersten. He knew she misunderstood who he was, but he was unsure exactly how to tell her the ranch she thought belonged to his daddy really belonged to him. Each of the sons was CJ Howell—he was Cleveland. He decided very quickly he was going to marry Kiersten. However, since she hated his daddy and all things Howell, he knew it would be a hard accomplishment. This was my first novel by Autumn Piper. I enjoyed her writing style and her characters. There was such conflict in the families that the plot was dynamic. It was a book I could not put down. The myriad of characters were diverse and helped to create the storyline. The sensuality was sizzling and covered both male/female and male/male situations. This book was fast-paced and moved constantly. There were no details overlooked. The conflicts between the Howells and the Days, as well as those of Kiersten and the friends of her previous husband, were suspenseful and dangerous. There was never a dull moment. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys conflict and love together with suspense. I know you will enjoy this book. I intend to look for other works by this author.
