| The wedding reception is about a boring as they come for Lori Nelson. That is until the sexy younger chauffeur Jeff coaxes her out on the dance floor. Sparks fly as dance between their bodies heat up the dance floor. In Lori, Jeff sees a beautifully seductive angel. Age doesn't matter but he has to prove to Lori that he's her man no matter how much she decides otherwise.
Long Slow Ride is an entertaining quickie from Ellora's Cave. The chemistry between Jeff the sensitive, sexual boy next door and Lori the reserved passionate and apprehensive older woman is sinfully sweet. Add in, the ex-boyfriend Charlie to enhance Lori's untrusting nature and it gives each character a full dimensional look. By briefly touching on background issues the author brings to light Lori and Jeffs characters. The dialogue is believable and highly entertaining. The sex scenes are intensely erotic but don't overshadow the plot. The novel, which takes place all within a little more than a day, is action-driven with each change of events leading to the next turn. As is typical with a quickie book, the author doesn't have time to fully detail every encounter but Ms. Ballou does a fantastic job of making the plot not only believable but highly enjoyable.
