| Sylvie Durant, a nightclub owner and bond mate to two vampires, has been
kidnapped by a demented killer. Miko Dvorak and Burke Langton, former
enemies and Sylvie's vampire bond mates learn that they must work
together if they want to save her. Not only must they save Sylvie, but
all three must clear Burke's name of murder. If one dies, all three die.
Will Miko and Burke find Sylvie before time runs out?
If Looks Could Kill is the third segment of Ms. Taylor's serial Carpe Nocturne. Finally, we find out who the murderer is. The main characters are well described even though this is their third story. Miko and Burke have finally come together to save Sylvie. The trio have graphic sex and I enjoyed their sexual encounters more in this novella than the previous two. I wanted to wake my partner so that he could enjoy the sex along with me. There were not many secondary characters, but each character had their place in the plot. The plot was well done despite the fact that I knew that the killer would be revealed. The twists and turns meant that the murderer wasn't revealed until the end and I was working hard to figure out “who done it.” Ms. Taylor's serial was fascinating and I highly recommend it.
