| Misty Green and Pansy Parker have had an on-going battle in Orchard Hill. The two women are now engaged to each other’s relatives (father of Misty and son of Pansy). This small town rivalry has gone beyond either’s wildest imaginations. This time the matchmaking was different, however. Shaun and Patience were already married. They married right after Patience’s graduation from high school and against the wishes of her parents. Shaun’s anger problems seemed to be magnified by his own home situation—or lack thereof. His mother was now divorcing her husband and living with another man in the same small, know-everything town.
The two were married only a short while before Patience left a note and disappeared. She didn’t return for months. During that time, much happened and was beyond the workings of the feuding matchmaking duo. Would this entrance into Ms. Kara Lynn Russell’s series end without a match or could there be reconciliation in the future? Ms. Russell has scored another winner with Losing Patience. Her level of expertise seemed especially well developed in this poignant look at the bitterness which can be manifest in people in all situations. Russell has penned her main characters with both mature and counterproductive descriptions. The two were so volatile, yet so heartrending, it was impossible to stay impartial. The storyline was alive with details which gripped my soul. I highly recommend this book, as well as this author, as one of the best. This is definitely not to be missed.
