| Serena is a woman who is also a warrior and a very good one at that. When she comes upon the men being attacked she does the only thing she can, she kills all the men who are trying to attack them. When she is hurt during the fight one of the men stays behind to help her. When she sees the mark he bears she knows he is the one that her people talk about, the wolf warrior who was lost a long time ago. Now she must convince him of the destiny he can't deny and a strong attraction that she can't fight.
Roan and his friend are attacked in the woods when out of nowhere a woman on a horse appears and takes down all of their attackers. He is intrigued by Serena and when she is hurt stays behind to make sure she will be all right. Then she reveals the myth about a warrior who was lost a long time ago and that the mark he has is the mark of this great warrior. Now he has to convince her that he is not the man she thinks, while trying to keep his desire for her in check. Could there be some truth to her story? This is a very exciting book and will keep you interested the whole way through. Serena is a kick ass heroine who fights as good as any man and is not afraid to get in the thick of an attack. Roan has lived his life with his past a mystery, until he meets Serena. Now he fights to find out if his past has come back to haunt him or if he has finally found where he belongs. The love scenes are typical of most romance novels and keep the plot interesting. This is a great read and I look forward to reading more from Rae Monet.
