| Julie Blalock is bored with her accounting job and secretly wishes to return to her days as an MI6 Agent so when she is approached with an assignment, she jumps at the chance. It should be easy; she just has to impersonate a rich socialite at an exclusive auction at Sotheby's and find out if Esther May Morrow's sale of an antique treasure is above board or something to worry about. What could possibly go wrong?
Esther May Morrow's Lot 62 is the second book by Arthur Everest with this very unusual story line that to me is reminiscent of the old television show The Twilight Zone. I highly recommend reading the first book, Esther May Morrow's Buy or Borrow which is a compilation of five short stories of people who have come into contact with Ms. Morrow, before this reading this book. Ms. Morrow is an unusual character that has possession of antiques that somehow affect time but the only place you learn this is the first book. All of these stories are told from the stand point of the person interacting with Ms. Morrow and this book is told from Julie Blalock's standpoint. Julie meets Ms. Morrow at the auction and speaks to her for a few minutes and it is what happens after that is the critical twist in the story. Without having read the first stories about Ms. Morrow, the reader would be lost. I loved the old Twilight Zone episodes and the best description I have for this book is that it is similar to those tales. If you are a fan of these kind of off beat, unusual but intriguing stories then you will enjoy the Esther May Morrow tales.
