| Detective Chuck Davidson's dislike of modern technology brings a sexy geek into his life. Dr. Herbert Pommerset steps in to save Chuck's cell phone from an early death and ends up getting his first kiss from the tall, dark detective. Their chance encounter on the street just might lead to something more than either of them had expected, especially after discovering their mutual love for Oreos. But Chuck's newest murder case may threaten their relationship before it ever gets started when it's discovered that the victim is Herb's colleague. Chuck will do everything he can to protect Herb and their future.
Sparks fly between Herb and Chuck the moment they meet. Though Chuck doesn't initially appreciate Herb's intervention in saving his cell phone, the geek's incessant chattering does capture his interest. Herb is immediately taken by Chuck's dark good looks and tells him so since he apparently lacks any internal filters. Herb's lack of filter is one of the things Chuck loves about him because he never has to guess what is going through Herb's always active mind. And Chuck's easy acceptance of Herb's brilliance and ceaseless babbling only heightens his appeal to the lonely scientist. These two really are a perfect match for each other, which is illustrated any time they are together. This is a great story with wonderful characters. T. A. Chase does a fabulous job of drawing readers into the story and making them care for both Chuck and Herb and wanting to see the two men together. The secondary characters are all well written and do their part in keeping the story moving. Though some people may think the story starts off slowly, the background information provided in the initial chapters is essential to the rest of the story. The story is nicely paced and will keep readers turning the pages until they get to the end.
