| The country of Maida has been destroyed by men and their wars. Very few in either gender can procreate. If the women become fertile they must mate within a few days or become insane, passing that insanity onto their male partner who will die of the disease. They've gone so far as to create a High Council in charge of mating. The last thing Rowena the scientist wants is the curse of fertility. Perhaps Tulon a centaur who has lost his powers can help change her mind.
Renee Field has taken PMS to a whole other level! For centuries the male gender has been forgiven for having sex with anyone who piqued their interest or roused their hormones. Now it's the females turn! If not fertile they can have their way with anyone in any way they choose. The fertile males are used for the mating rituals to ensure continuation of the species. Otherwise they're virtually imprisoned in a world of their own, watched over by some demanding female guards. Tulon longs for a loving relationship, Rowena longs for test tubes, her lab and time to find a cure for the dehumanizing rituals of womanhood. The author does a fun job contrasting the world of fairies, Centaurs, Betikhan and a living forest that rejects humans who can destroy it. Mating means something to the half human, half animal creatures. Tulon, Rowena and all the other characters with their antics, rules and belief systems make this an erotic story full of subtle pokes at our world and how we live.
