In a 'Love Not Forgotten,' we begin our story in 1602 Scotland. The MacDaniels and the MacTamhais are mortal enemies. This does not stop Dougal MacTamhais and Katrina MacDaniels from meeting and falling in love. But their love is short lived and they vow that they will meet and love again. Present day Kate Daniels has inherited property in Scotland. She is to share this inheritance with Alexander Tavish. The estate that they have inherited is haunted. Together they will come to understand the history of their ancestors and a mystery will be solved.

'A Love Not Forgotten', is appropriately titled for it is indeed a story of two lost souls who have not forgotten the love they shared. The characters are colorful and you will begin to understand them by learning their background and seeing how they grow and fall in love. Alex is a man that is tormented by his past. When danger from his past resurfaces he will have to face his demons and make everything right. At first I really did not like Alex. I felt he was an arrogant selfish man, but as I came to understand him later, I found a tortured soul. The love is passionate and begins with much difficulty. Through all the difficulties that Alex and Kate are met with, there are also two ghosts who make their presence known in very big ways. The dialogue in the story is well written and easily followed. The plot at times seems complicated, but when keeping in mind the original start of the story, it makes perfect sense. There are two people in love that are meant to be together for eternity. This is an emotionally powerful heart-wrenching story about two lovers trying to find their way back to one another. I recommend this story to all adults who enjoy a passionate romance. For all the above reasons I give 'Love Not Forgotten' by Ellen Ashe five hearts.
