| Tolliver is twenty four and manages the family bookstore. He does his best to take care of his sister Sarah, a teenage mother who gave her daughter up for adoption. Tolliver buried his life in work and making sure Sarah stays on the right track. He defends his lack of a life to his sister by saying he has to maintain the shop.
Noble comes into Old Curiosity looking for a deck of tarot cards and finds Tolliver. Noble is a seer and while he is not gay, he knows that there is a possible future with Tolliver. Now if only he could get him to see it too. This is a story of love and romance as well as secrets and jealousy. As the story moves on, you find yourself diving into the world of each of these amazingly three dimensional characters. Noble has his secrets and Tolliver is gruff and lives for his sister and never for himself, not even enough to lose his virginity. Noble has to push his way past Tolliver's walls. Even though she set them up, Sarah seems jealous and afraid that Tolliver will get a life of his own and he will forget about her. No one seems to wants to give up on each other but they all have a long way to go before they can really be happy. Willa Okati has taken love to another level. The plots in her stories always keep you guessing while remaining relatable no matter how paranormal they get. Willa shows us the ways Noble fights to be a part of Tolliver and even Sarah's life. As well as Tolliver taking journey into life in a way he never would have even dreamed of doing. The romance between these two "straight men" is both sexual and intimate. Sarah and Tolliver learn to balance life, love and family the best way they can.
