| It’s been three years since Brandi witnessed her young nephew being dragged through his closet door by the ‘boogeyman’. Since that time, night after night, she watched that closet. Other children have disappeared and each time Brandi has a premonition prior to the kidnapping. Frustrated and distressed, she’s ready to make the ultimate sacrifice when she’s stopped by a enigmatic stranger.
Julian, an immortal Templar Knight, together with fellow knights Marduk and Ramiel, are tasked with finding seven keys. The seven keys, when together, will open a gate to the netherworld, sending back evil beings to whence they came. Julian can sense the keys' location but when his senses lead him to Brandi, he's not the only one surprised. Brandi has given up so much in her search for ways to rescue her nephew, including romance and love. The attraction she feels for Julian excites and scares her. She’s gutsy and has courage in spades and absolutely nothing will deter her from her quest. Brandi’s courage and determination are just two of the things that Julian finds attractive. Around Brandi, he finds it difficult to keep his mind on the task. But oh boy, Sherri keeps up the sexual tension way into the story, before having her hero and heroine come together in a frenzy of smoldering intensity. Marduk and Ramiel add to the story, each very different and special. I love the dialogue and banter between the four characters, which is as much part of the story as the developing relationship between Brandi and Julian. Sizzling sexual attraction and surprising discoveries are just part of this thrilling and exciting story. Lover’s Key is a non-stop intense, page-turning journey that will delight and entertain readers. I have read every book written by Sherri L. King and her flair for provocative, high tension, action packed novels keeps growing. I highly recommend this book. It’s one that I will reread time and time again, because I was truly sorry to finish this book, I enjoyed it so much. I do hope this one leads to others featuring Marduk and Ramiel.
