Oh, how I loved this book! It is one of the best I have ever read! The plot was different from the norm, and the twists and turns just increased its reading value. I was not familiar with Tiffany Ashley, the author; however, I will definitely keep her name on my “must-be-read” list.

Laney Parks, a beautiful caramel-colored young woman, was looking forward to her 10-day cruise with Rob, her boyfriend of 3 years. Surely he would propose! She had all new, enticing clothing to wear; she was serious about this venture. She expected to be engaged after this vacation. Since he had not had time to pack, she went to his apartment to do it for him. He was having sex with one of his colleagues. Devastated, she planned to go alone and try to get over her disappointment. At least she would be away from work and her nasty supervisor, Mary-Knight Tyler. Working for Sinclair Corporation would be so wonderful if it wasn’t for her boss taking credit for all the work she did!

Nicholas Sinclair was trying to snag the greatest deal of his company’s history; he wanted it badly enough to lie about being married and got his secretary to work out all the details except the “married” part; he happened upon Laney in line to board the ship. In desperation, he offered her $10,000 and a promotion to Ms. Tyler’s position. She agreed, but truly had no idea what would become of it!

Ms. Ashley has truly introduced several unique, even if predictable, outcomes from this farce! There are so many predicaments that it has a yo-yo effect on the couple’s relationship. The emotions run the gambit from sad to funny. She does an excellent job of presenting this couple and their mission. Their racial mixed liaison was not even an issue! I wholeheartedly recommend this book; I read it hastily, for I could not get enough. Three aren’t enough words of praise for this book or its author.
