| Quentin Blackwell, the Earl of Devlyn, is shocked when Sophie Hamilton, the sister of his ex-fiancée and supposed love of his life Eleanor, comes to his home requesting a meeting with him. Sophie has a shocking proposal for him. She wants to get revenge on her father, Lord Townsend, and her sister…by marring Devlyn! Right away he is intrigued and more than a little aroused by the haughty beauty. A deal is made and both promise to follow through. Devlyn will finally get his revenge on Lord Townsend for almost ruining him financially, and he will also get revenge on the spoiled Eleanor. Added into the bargain is a voluptuous woman who promises to be a pleasure in bed.
Sophie and Devlyn's marriage is anything but ordinary. Their sexual attraction to each other is astounding, and though they had both vowed to keep out of each other's way, they can't resist spending time together. But can a renowned rake and a woman who never expected to marry ever truly fall in love and live happily-ever-after? Love's Revenge is the second story from Monica Burns and like her first story, it is another sensual historical romp, filled with a to-die-for Alpha hero and a strong and independent-minded female protagonist. Devlyn and Sophie both fight falling in love and they definitely try to hold out until the very end, making their capitulation to love all the more sweeter. I really enjoyed this story because Devlyn and Sophie were truly characters the reader comes to care about. They have their quirks and problems, but above all, they come to realize that love is the only thing that matters. Monica Burns has created a wonderful and erotic historical story that has amazing characters, sensual dialogue, and a smooth flowing plot. If you're a fan of historical romances, this is a story not to be missed.
