| How do you handle a situation when you are a narcotics agent, posing with your partner as husband and wife, on assignment, and you are attracted to your landlord who is the subject of investigation? This is the case for Sloane Jamison and Connie, who rent half the duplex owned by Abby Tarleton, 28, who, along with her 3-year-old son Adam, occupy the opposite side. Abby is the ex-wife of Joe Tarleton, recently paroled from prison for dealing drugs; it seems Abby must have taken over for him and risen above his prior level in the chain of command for drug dealers. Now Joe has been released from prison and the more Sloane and Connie investigate, the guiltier Abby appears. Sloane fights his attraction to Abby by remembering that a drug dealer was responsible for the death of his older brother!
Ms. Sondra Quinn has a winner on her hands! I literally stayed up all night reading this book; I simply could not stop reading! The concept is so believable and Abby’s naïveté is understandable; the attitudes of both Sloane and Connie are predictable. Ms. Quinn shared her wonderful writing skill in this incredible story which should be enjoyed by lovers of all genres of romance. The attraction between Sloane and Abby is electrifying but each tries to ignore it. The author is gifted in her ability to provide all the elements of a true romance without using explicit sexual content. Love Under Suspicion is a book of constant excitement, some dangerous situations, and a myriad of lies and deception. Each time Ms. Quinn writes a paragraph, she is weaving a more interesting storyline. There is much which happens in the book, but there are no “dead” spots to destroy the interest of the reader. I encourage you to read this book; you will definitely be glad you did!
