| Wanda Humphries worked in the typing pool at Westmark Industries. Since the day several years ago that she substituted for Mr. Westmark’s secretary, she had been in love with Charles Westmark III. She had little money and lived like a pauper—saving for the day she could buy her dream home. Wanda never mixed with any of her associates, had no family and lived in her own little dream world. She dreamed of her relationship with Charlie. Circumstances changed the day she was called into her supervisor’s office and told to go to Mr. Westmark’s office to fill in.
Charles Westmark had problems with keeping administrative assistants. He was a brutal boss, had no patience with mediocre work habits and fired most of the women who came to work for him. The day Wanda came into his office, he loaded her down with work and then told her to come with him to a meeting across town to take dictation. As they left the limo, she fell on the ice and hit her head. The accident caused her to think she and “Charlie” were married. What else could he do but play along as the doctor suggested? Ms. Anna Leigh Keaton has written this book with an amazing outcome. The plot is a uniquely intriguing concept which I found impossible to put down. I loved her style. Her characters were lively, vividly portrayed and very likeable. The interactions between these two people who were obviously so different was dynamic. There were scenes which were laughable. Others were so sensitive that I wanted to cry. While the ending was predictable, the journey was anything but ordinary. I loved the way she brought the characters full circle and the outcome was poignant. I highly recommend this book to others. The sexual scenes were exciting and graphic. I predict this will be another big hit for Keaton.
