Marc has just about won a battle for his home when he captures an important prisoner, Kirlos. He's ready to torture the information he needs from him, until he realizes that Kirlos is actually enjoying it more than being scared of it. This scares him more than he can say, because he finds himself attracted to him in ways he's never been to another person. Having been genetically altered with animal genes, he is more inclined to be aggressive that he was before. What worries him is that Kirlos really brings that out in him to the point of no return.

Kirlos never thought he'd find someone that can do for him what Marc does. He knows deep in his heart that Marc would never actually harm him, but Marc doesn't seem to have the same trust in himself. Will he be able to teach him, or will he be forced to leave?

The characters were a little wooden for me and the story didn't always flow well. I really like Larissa and missed her in this story, even though I knew it was not going to include her. This is a story about when Kirlos and Marc first meet, and gives you an idea of what they had to struggle through to become who they are together. I think it can be read as a stand alone, although you might miss some of the references between the lovers as they tell their story if you do. Shifters Station 3: Loving Your Enemy is a fast paced action packed story that will definitely leave you wanting to read the remaining books of the series if you've never picked them up.
