| Lucius was a vampire that was lonely and tired of waiting for his mate. He had tried forcing it with another, and it didn't work. He thought about just giving up, because he had exsisted for so long without the person he needed to be complete. Without warning, he scents her in the wind. His mate is in the nearby bayou, and she is not human either. She's a werewolf.
Tala roams the bayou alone. She doesn't like being in a pack anymore, and has become a loner from her own kind. Roaming the bayou one night, she senses someone watching her. She doesn't know who it is, but she knows they are dangerous. This story was hard to read. The relationship between the two had no time to grow, and the sudden feelings they had for each other seemed out of place. The storyline moved from one place to another so fast that it was hard to keep up. There was a plot, and if time had been taken to develop the relationship between the two people in the story, it could have been a great book. This book would have made a great story, if more time had been taken to develop the story line. Still, I thought that it was an interesting read.
