| Life is never easy if you're the youngest -- and mostly good -- daughter of the devil. Faith Bettincourt is just trying to remain anonymous in Pittsburgh as a pediatric nurse. Her biggest concern is hooking up with her hot, nerdy tenant next door. Hard to do when the devil is an overprotective father, your meddling mother can't accept that Gaia isn't real, your sister is on the run for embezzlement, and your brother turned your best friend into a succubus and she just killed your boss. And then there's the creepy stalker who seems hell-bent on making sure you won't live out the month. How in Hell is a girl supposed to hook up with all of that? With a little divine intervention, that's how.
This story is hilarious! It was delightfully quirky and once I started reading I just couldn't put it down. Patricia Eimer has managed to put a wonderful, and very realistic, spin on family dynamics that had me laughing from beginning to end. Talk about the family from Hell -- only nicer and more normal than you'd expect. It was fun to imagine that the devil would be just like any other doting father who wanted nothing more but to spoil his youngest daughter. Who hasn't been embarrassed by their mother at one point or another? And while you may bicker with your brothers and sisters, you know they always have your back. The interplay between all the characters was great and I really enjoyed being immersed in Ms. Eimer's take on a modern family and the lengths they will go to protect and help each other. The plot was fast paced and well-written with some wonderfully unexpected moments that had me laughing out loud. I can't wait to read this one over and over again and look forward to more from Patricia Eimer.
