| Megan West is determined that her cousin's wedding be absolutely perfect. After all, Faith had been jilted the last time. So when the ceremony is interrupted by someone shouting to stop the wedding, Megan goes into protective mode. Chicago cop Logan Doyle just wanted to protect his grandfather from making a huge mistake. Now he finds himself on a Nevada road trip with a sexy-sweet librarian who learns her father and uncle have been keeping secrets from her. On their journey they each discover things about each other as well as themselves. Can this unlikely pair gamble on love and win?
This was an amusing adventure that kept me giggling, made me cry, and then had me chuckling some more. I was expecting zany, over-the-top characters in this book. Instead I got a fantastic hero and heroine thrown into zany, over-the-top situations. The supporting cast of characters were well developed and wonderfully entertaining. I loved how the relationship evolved and how realistic both of these people were. They both had such a great combination of positive and undesirable attributes. Megan's eccentric love for retro clothing and her distrust of police officers just made her all the more authentic. My favorite character in the story was Logan's grandfather. He reminded me of my own relatives and his colorful phrases are many I've grown up with including "I'm just saying" and "I'm so glad to have a reply". I would love to see Megan's coworkers get their own escapades. Although this is the direct sequel to Mad, Bad and Blonde, which I haven't read but I plan to, I never felt as if I was missing anything. Fans of this author will not be disappointed by this one and those that are new to her will most likely become fans. This one is going into my keeper shelve and will no doubt be read again and again.
