Serena Blackstone is a mortal librarian, who is cataloging centuries of manuscripts in Strange Castle. She has a yen for closer relations with Invictus and, frustrated by his lack of interest, instigates a scheme to tempt his curiosity.

They are cross-purposes; ying and yang, male and female, she wants him and he doesn't want to want her. Invictus finally agrees to Serena's proposition, but he does it on his terms.

I felt that Ms. Aames leaves you waiting at the finish line, wondering if there will be a winner in this sexual battle or if it will finish out in a tie. Lusty Charms: Invictus continues to illustrate Ms. Aames' erotic vision but did not present her characters in vibrant light I have seen in the past. This short story left many questions unanswered. Perhaps this is a prelude for a longer tale in the future. I look forward to seeing more of Lani Aames writings in the future.
