| Lynda Phelps has a problem. She adores (maybe even LOVES) her lover, Jordan Ellis III, but the only imperfection in their relationship is that he’s a bit too tame in the sack for her. Lynda enjoys adventurous sexual games, the occasional woman, dominance, and sporadically some other wild lusts. Unfortunately, Lynda is trying to fit the image of respectable and classy businesswoman that she thinks Jordan expects from her. Lynda is sure if Jordan knew what really turned her on, he would be turned off. So, because she doesn’t want to lose him, she hides her true self.
However, the more Jordan is with Lynda, the more he becomes interested in taking their sex life a bit farther. Is the sexual adventuress in Lynda starting to affect Jordan? Will their sex life finally be what Lynda has been dreaming of ever since they started seeing each other? City Heat: Lynda’s Lace is most definitely an explicit and sexually charged story. The lust, affection and companionship between Lynda and Jordan is genuine and true. My one qualm with this story involves Lynda’s character. If she is so able to take charge sexually, go after her own desires and wants, how is she able to suppress those feelings for Jordan? She’s seemed like such a strong and capable woman for the majority of this story, but her feelings towards Jordan made her weak, rather than making her stronger as love should. I wasn’t able to quite mesh these two divergent sides of Lynda into a believable character. That qualm aside, this is another exciting story from Lacey Alexander. She’s by far one of the hottest voices in erotic fiction today and City Heat: Lynda’s Lace showcases those talents very well. A small note to readers, this story contains scenes of f/f lovemaking, along with a ménage a trois. It is very tastefully written, as all Ms. Alexander’s love scenes are, but if this is not up your alley, you may have to pass on this story. Issues aside, this is still a novel definitely worth taking the time to read.
