Jon Lindsay, a successful “romantica” author, is in the town of Bluebonnet, Texas to work on his late grandmother’s house and getting her estate tied up, as a favor to his father. His first night, he finds himself at the Bluebonnet Dance Hall trying to decide if a one-night stand is worth it. He’d been celibate for months but he’s very picky about his women!! From across the room, he sees HER, The One!!! She appears to be older than he and that’s just the way he likes them. Now to meet her!

Lynette was at the Dance Hall with friends. She’s recently divorced and just the week before closed on her house and her new business. After several drinks, she takes a break. On her way back to her friends, she runs into HIM, The One that will hopefully fulfill her long-suppressed fantasies. However, after years of her mother telling her she was “plain” and her ex-husband dumping her right before his transfer, her self-esteem is low. How in the world could this gorgeous young man want anything to do with her – a frumpy, slightly heavy middle-aged woman?? She’s about to find out!!

With Jon, Lynette starts to feel free enough to explore her fantasies and Jon is more than happy to oblige her. When they start realizing that it’s not just great sex, Jon realizes he still has a secret he hasn’t shared. What will Lynette’s reaction be?

I thought Celia Stuart does a great job with these two characters. My only complaint would have to be that I felt Lynette forgave Jon much too easily, considering how hurt she was, once she learned his secret. Other than that, I found it to be a fast, hot, yummy read!! Wondering if the author might be thinking of another trip to Bluebonnet???
