Beth Williamson has, again, surpassed all expectations in writing standards when she released this newest short story. Being a fan of hers, I have always grabbed her newest work as quickly as possible. This latest is different in that it is short, but it has the punch and steam we have all come to expect from her efforts.

Marielle Bloom, at 27, looked forward to a new start in San Francisco. While traveling by stage coach, along with two others, they were robbed by a well-known thief, Stinky Pete. Unknown to her, the man she had been flirting with the entire trip was Marshal Ramsey Whitfield. Since she didn’t believe he was moving quickly enough to suit her, she grabbed his gun and faced off with Sneaky Pete. She was so enraged that he was going to steal what little she had left from her parents, she shot him “in the rifle” and infuriated him so that he let their horses loose.

Ramsey and Marielle were obviously extremely attracted to each other. The sexual scenes were steamy and certainly stand up to the standards set by Ms. Williamson. This book was so fast-paced; it definitely left me wanting more. That does not mean it was not a complete work; I have to admit that, whenever I complete a Beth Williamson, I always want more. Great job, once again, and one you will definitely love even if historical (western) is not your favorite genre.
