Janine is an empath, and has been since childhood. She's since learned to shield herself, which is necessary for her to function. But when a man is brought to the ER, thought to have been hit by a bus, she's shocked. Not only can she not seem to shield herself from him, but he also has a very strange feel to him. He's not like her, but at the same time, he is different like her. And when he wakes up, he can't remember anything and only seems willing to allow her near him. There's a strong current of sexual attraction between them, but Janine isn't willing to get involved with a patient, even one as sexy as Connor. But she will do everything she can to help him. It'll just be a bit difficult with an ex-husband who can't seem to take a hint, a fellow doctor who is still angry after she rejected him, and a paramedic who hates her and lusts for her equally.

Oh man, this was an AWESOME story. I normally don't like raving about a book, but this one was just spectacular. Evangeline Anderson gets better and better with each story. Or maybe it was the addition of Jay Douglas that made this one even better? Regardless, I couldn't tell that this story was written by two authors; it was seamless and flowed flawlessly. The mystery of who Connor was, rather or not he would regain his memory, and how he could heal so quickly kept the story going, as well as some later suspenseful events, were all excellently combined with the erotic romance. The sex was absolutely scorching, and I couldn't stop reading for more sex, more romance, and more action. Connor was a very intriguing character from the beginning. He was very protective of Janine, yet also rather vulnerable to her. It was so sweet, it made it easy to see why she fell for him. I absolutely loved Marked and I'm recommending it to everyone I think would be remotely interested. It just has every ingredient that a great erotic romance should! I could go on, but I think I've raved enough.
