| Ivy Ward has a birthmark that sets her apart from others in her pack. She takes a vacation from her job in West Virginia to visit her friend Beth in California and meets Lodan Hunt. The man's a loner known for one night stands so she expects little from him but what they have is better than anything she's experienced before. Lodan's life has been miserable because of the mark. When he finally finds out what it means it changes everything for him and Ivy.
B. J. McCall writes a great story of two people who have been shunned or had their life ruined because of a birthmark. Both are built as wonderful characters that will evoke empathy or sympathy from the reader depending on our life circumstances. The wolf packs they originated from won't. There's such a sense of "finally" when Lodan finds that his mentor in the California lair not only knows the prophecy involving the birthmark, he's able to help both of them. The author provokes a good deal of thought within a wonderfully erotic tale.
