In Masque of Desire, Miranda Carter’s reluctant attendance at a Halloween masquerade party turns into a wild, uninhibited night of sex with a complete stranger she suspects to be the owner of Violet Hall and the man who hired her firm for the purchase and restoration of the old plantation house. The curse of the former owner, Aleksandr Valquet, intrigues her though she is not at first inclined to believe in it.

This story is truly timeless, sleeping beauty in reverse. Doomed to wait two hundred fifty years for the return of his love, Aleksandr needs Miranda to break the curse or her soul and that of their son will be doomed to wander in limbo. Aleksandr wastes no time in setting Miranda straight. These two fit together perfectly. Miranda is a practical though conservative young woman, concentrating on her career but she has a latent wild side she rarely shows. Aleksandr is a take charge man who does what’s necessary. He doesn't hesitate, taking Miranda to his bed and telling her their history. The sparks fly from their first masked meeting. I love the way these two interact. Practicality smacks head first into fantasy, creating a new perfect reality for them. Their sizzling passion and love transcended time, death, and a vengeful curse. I truly enjoyed this story. It was a lot of fun to read and I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend an evening in an erotic fantasy with a touch of a ghost story.
