One ball and four different scenarios round out Masquerade, Volume One. Each of the four main characters is enticed by the God's of Olympus to take sport in unfufilled wishes and carnal delights.

The Golden Lioness by Skyler Grey begins with Trista Vine receiving a coveted invitation to the Masquerade Ball. She must choose which god will grant the fantasy she desires. Will this god be able to lure Trista into staying behind or will the pull of returning to her own world be too much?

Ms. Grey presents a well-written story about Trista Vine's adventure at the Masquerade Ball. Trista is a bubbly personality intent on getting the fantasy of a lifetime. Thrown into the fantasy are the god Hercules, a mysterious man at the ball and her neighbor in real life Brian. The way in which all the character's interact is done in a believable manner and the erotic scenes will raise your temperature. A nice, quick read for anyone looking for an enjoyable tale.

Caging Kat by Kayleigh Jamison is the story of Kat's adventure at the Masquerade Ball. Kat had been invited for a few years, but this time because of her financial situation is forced to go. Kat is a rich thief with all of her money tied up in investments. She is unable to touch her money for fear that it will draw attention to her profession. Kat decides to go to the ball with the intent of stealing to keep herself afloat until she can get to her money. Little does she know that a certain god has other plans for her.

Kat is a strong, independent character challenged by the god Ares. Both are determined to get what they are after and will stop at nothing to do so. Ares deals with Kat in a way few men know how to. Kat likes that, but is too stubborn to admit it. Together these two share a cat and mouse game with a very spicy element added in. Ms. Jamison's story will appeal to those who like a little fantasy mixed with take charge attitudes.

Water Lily by Jamie Hill is Lillian Worth's story. Lillian attends the ball in hopes of adding a little excitement in what she feels is her boring life. When she meets a god claiming to be Poseidon, she thinks he is a little off his rocker. Poseidon desires Lillian and grants her one wish. This wish changes Lillian's entire world in more ways than she imagines.

Ms. Hill presents Lillian and Poseidon as two very different characters. Lillian views herself as a boring, plain seamstress. Poseidon is a strong, willful god intent on luring Lillian into his world. The wish he grants Lillian takes a surprising turn and one can't help but hope things work out for them. The way in which the story ends leaves the reader satisfied and happy. I would recommend this to those who likes to read quick, uplifting stories.

Stay With Me by Alisha Steele brings the story of Dionysos and Sianne. Dionysos is forced to grant one wish to Sianne when she guesses his identity at the Masquerade Ball. Surprised by what Sianne wishes for Dionysos is happy to grant it. Maybe this mortal woman is just what this god needs to pull him out of his bored state. Sianne is delighted this god will give her what she has always wanted, but is she willing to pay the price to have her wish granted?

This is a humorous and touching story. Dionysos is tired of the constant parties around him and when Sianne finds him. Sianne comes across as a woman done with men who never live up to their promises in relationships. Dionysos comes across as a charming, determined god who wants show Sianne how love should really be. The erotic scenes are well placed within this moving tale. Ms. Steele's writing style is very enjoyable and well developed.

Masquerade Ball is a tantalizing compiliation of four different experiences at a once a year party. It is a very enjoyable well-written read that will appeal to most everyone. Fantasies, wishes, erotic play and love all play a role in this anthology. I look foward to reading the next volume.
