A modern day tale of Robin Hood with a witchy twist! Kat is an orphanage director by day and a jewel thief by night, robbing from the rich to keep her former orphanage home open for the many orphans she now cares for. Toren MacCallum is Laird to the MacCallum clan in the 16th century and a rich artifact collector in the 21st century. After setting a trap for the witch who cursed him to the 21st century, he doesn't expect to wind up thrust back to the 16th century with a natural witch from the future who has an unknown past and demons on the hunt. Together they must save themselves, his clan, her orphanage, and maybe find a way to saving each other's hearts.

This book truly was bewitching! The plot was rich with detail and well-developed. The twists and turns were unexpected and exciting. It was fast-paced yet incredibly meticulous. Ms. McCollum has a real eye for detail. The historical descriptions were excellent. I truly felt as if I had traveled back in time. The characters were so vivid and really meshed well with each other. I really liked the interaction between Kat and Toren. He was very strong of character and soft of heart -– just how I like my leading men. She too was very strong and yet so vulnerable. They played off each other well. I really enjoyed the ending and how he expressed his love for her. The secondary characters were just as compelling. This book is part of a series, each depicting a different woman with a shared past, but can be read as a stand alone. However, I don't recommend reading just one – the spell cast by Heather McCollum is one you don't want to shake.
